11/2/09

Paul is now completely off the sedatives and is breathing on his own. The swelling in his brain has also gone down significantly, and he is occasionally opening one eye and yawning. His is still not fully alert and his responses are variable, but he is once again responding to simple commands and has even added an audible "Mmmhmm" in addition to nodding.
Although we still have to wait and pray for him to continue to improve, everyone is very pleased with the progress he's made so far.

  1. We can't see any way to look at this news other than as a positive...and that's great! Paul will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

  6. I love you buddy! you have been in all of my thoughts since day one. You told me that you would see me at christmas time and im holding you to that. I know you will be fine and im expecting that you will be at your regular self before next year. I can not wait to see you, it means the world to me! Go Paul, you can not be stopped. grab the world by its balls and demand that nobody has seen nothing yet!

  10. We don't know Paul or your family, but was forwarded this from a mutual friend. Our son Kevin is a survivor from a severe TBI 3 years ago. He went from being declared clinically brain dead, through 2 years of therapy and rehab, to now being able to live normally. Paul's progress sounds fantastic, Kevin was nowhere near this level in this timeframe. So keep the faith, we will be praying for him and always remember that God heals.
